MV Saimai is one of the only liveaboards with departures from Phi Phi Islands. Most boats depart from Phuket or Khao Lak but Saimai starts in Phi Phi. Departure and return times are scheduled to work with the fast ferry schedules so if you are on Phuket, Krabi or Koh Lanta you can get to Phi Phi in time to join Saimai. With a Saimai trip you can start in Phi Phi and finish in Phuket, or vise versa, it's totally flexible and we arrange the transfers for you.

Saimai itinerary:

You can join Saimai from Phuket, Phi Phi, Krabi or Lanta. You can also finish their program in Phuket, Phi Phi, Krabi or Lanta. We will take care of the transfers. Ultimate flexibility. This is how it works:
  • Starting in Phuket you will either join Saimai in Phuket (Monday) or transfer to Saimai in Phi Phi by fast ferry (Wednesday and Friday). You can depart Saimai in Phi Phi, or transfer back to Phuket, or transfer on to Ao Nang or Koh Lanta by ferry.
  • Starting in Phi Phi you will join Saimai at the pier. You can depart Saimai in Phi Phi, or transfer on to Phuket, Ao Nang or Koh Lanta.

Thailand's best snorkeling

We've been busy adding new snorkeling tours to our SnorkelingThailand.com website. We've also revamped the layout so it's now easier for you to find the best snorkeling tours from either Phuket, Khao Lak or Krabi.

We have snorkeling day trips to all the best reefs including the Similan Islands, Phi Phi Islands, Koh Racha and the Khai Islands. We also have half day trips by speedboat to local reefs which are full of fish. We also arrange multi day snorkeling tours with accommodation either on a liveaboard boat or camping in tents at the Similan Islands. We also have boats available for charter for private groups.

Most of our snorkeling tours are designed for all ages. Want to see manta rays underwater? How about leopard sharks or turtles? We know the best places.

Krabi Liveaboards to the Similan Islands

Krabi-Phuket ferry transfer
We occasionally get asked if there are any liveaboard boats going from Krabi or Ao Nang beach to the Similan Islands. The answer is no, it's a very long way from Krabi to the Similans by boat. However if you are staying in a Krabi resort we can arrange transfers for you so that you can join a Similan liveaboard in either Phuket or Thap Lamu (Khao Lak).

The expensive way to transfer is by private car to Phuket or Thap Lamu pier. The cheaper route is by ferry from Krabi to Rassanda pier in Phuket. From there we will pick you up and either transfer you directly to the boat or take you to our office to away pick up from the dive boat operator.

Most liveaboards to the Similan Islands depart in the evening. So if you take the morning (9am) ferry from Krabi you'll be in Phuket by lunch time after a nice scenic ferry ride past the Phi Phi islands. That'll give you a few hours to relax and look around Phuket before joining your liveaboard boat.

So, don't let the fact that you are in Krabi prevent you from diving the Similans. Ask us about liveaboards with transfers from Krabi.
